With ‘Getting Directions’ I try to include everything that I think is worth knowing about, as I try to find out what’s made me who I am and how I am.
I include whatever I think of as formative. The things that made or make a difference.
I believe it will help me get more out of my life, that it will help give me direction, (natch). And I’m hoping that at least some of what I find useful will prove worthwhile for you to know about too. (With a bit of luck it will be interesting and entertaining as well.)
Looking beneath the surface shows we all have more in common than we have differences. We can go through life learning -from what we notice, and from each other.
The greater the variety of things and people we learn from, the richer life is. A day is always improved when I feel I’ve learned something new or realise something new about something I’d thought I already understood.
With ‘Getting Directions’ I share what I learn.
If every aspect of life can be a lesson, the key to the classroom comes with being always open to finding things out. No-one can control every aspect of life. But the more you understand what’s going on in the world around you, the better your response to whatever happens.
Be open to learning. It’s the way to having your own thoughts; the way to making your own rules.
