I include in ‘Getting Directions’ whatever I think of as formative. The things that made or make a difference.
We’re all busy and so it’s written in easy-to-digest short segments.
I try to minimise the time between my discoveries, realisations and recollections about a topic and then making them public.
Thoughts occur. I take notes as best I can. (If I don’t write something down, it’s often gone forever.) I then try to write them up as soon as I can.
Some of the photos are taken either at or around about the same time as the entries that accompany them are written. Others I have already taken that simply seem appropriate.
It must be – should be – inevitable that I discover more, realise more, recall more and re-evaluate as time goes by. The past is no more certain than the future. That’s the way of things.
