Relief
(back to the index of emotions)
Below are entries where relief is significant.
The broad idea that relief is what’s felt when something ‘bad’ (something painful or upsetting or similar) either doesn’t happen or has come to an end seems valid. You need something to get relief from, as it were. | It’s one of those emotions that, by-and-large, you’d rather you’d never experience: you’d rather the bad didn’t happen, or that you’d never have cause to fear it happening. But of course the bad does loom in life; at least relief can be a positive, strong emotion. |
